Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive initial patient evaluations and assessments for orthopedic, neurological, and musculoskeletal conditions
Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique rehabilitation goals
Administer therapeutic interventions including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, modalities (ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat/ice therapy), and functional training
Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, injury prevention strategies, posture correction, and self-management techniques
Collaborate with physicians, occupational therapists, and multidisciplinary care teams to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered rehabilitation services
Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment protocols as needed to optimize functional outcomes
Maintain accurate clinical documentation including evaluation reports, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with regulatory standards
Ensure a safe, clean, and organized treatment environment while adhering to infection control protocols and safety guidelines
Participate in continuing education, clinical mentorship programs, and professional development opportunities

Required Qualifications

Education: Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an CAPTE-accredited program required
Licensure: Current or eligible New York State Physical Therapist license required at time of hire
Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire
Experience: Prior outpatient physical therapy experience strongly preferred
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient education skills
Strong clinical reasoning, critical thinking, and evidence-based practice abilities
Proven organizational and time-management capabilities in fast-paced clinical settings
Physical ability to lift up to 30 pounds independently and up to 150 pounds with assistance
Capability to stand, walk, bend, and assist with patient transfers throughout treatment sessions
Specialty certifications (Orthopedic Clinical Specialist, Manual Therapy, Sports Physical Therapy) preferred and compensated additionally
