Position Overview
As a Certified Athletic Trainer, you will work under physician supervision to deliver comprehensive sports medicine services including injury prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation. This diverse role combines clinical expertise with on-field athletic support, allowing you to engage directly with student-athletes, coaches, and healthcare teams in both educational and clinical environments.

Location: Geneva, NY – Finger Lakes Region
Salary Range: $53,000 - $72,000 annually (competitive compensation based on experience)
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation services to athletes
Apply preventative taping, bracing, and supportive devices for sports-related injuries
Design and implement conditioning and reconditioning programs for injured athletes
Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, coaches, parents, and athletic directors
Deliver on-site athletic training coverage for school sporting events and games
Respond to emergency situations and provide immediate care as needed
Educate athletes, coaches, and school staff on injury prevention and sports safety best practices
Document patient care plans, treatment progress, and outcomes in electronic medical record (EMR) systems
Maintain flexible schedule to accommodate athletic events and clinical needs
Participate in professional development and continuing education opportunities
Required Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, Kinesiology, or related field (Required)
Master's degree in Athletic Training or related field (Preferred)
Licensure & Certification:
New York State Certified Athletic Trainer license (Required)
NATABOC (National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification) certification (Required)
BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification through RQI system – completed during clinical orientation
Experience:
New graduates from accredited athletic training programs encouraged to apply
1-2 years of experience in school athletics or outpatient orthopedic/sports medicine setting (Preferred)
Skills & Competencies:
Strong leadership abilities and capacity to multitask in fast-paced environments
Exceptional interpersonal communication and customer service skills
Professional demeanor with ability to maintain confidentiality of protected health information
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferred
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team
Flexible and adaptable to changing schedules and locations
