Mental Health Professional III

Join our dedicated team as a Mental Health Professional III, where you will provide exceptional, patient-focused care through supervised mental health services. Your role will encompass conducting assessments, offering psycho-education, leading process groups, developing treatment plans, and facilitating therapeutic counseling sessions using evidence-based interventions in individual, family, and group therapy settings.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Therapeutic Counseling: Conduct one-on-one, group, and family psychoeducational and process groups.

  • Treatment Planning: Develop treatment plans and participate in ongoing treatment planning meetings and reviews.

  • Safety Assessment: Evaluate the environment and patient safety status, reporting and responding to actual and potential safety issues or changes in the patient's condition.

  • Risk Management: Identify risk factors, screening criteria, and interventions for patients with special precautions (e.g., suicide, homicide, falls, elopement).

  • Documentation: Complete assessments, group notes, and all other documentation promptly and in compliance with requirements.

  • Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work with the multidisciplinary team to assess and coordinate patients' discharge planning needs and readiness for discharge.

  • Post-Discharge Follow-Up: Conduct follow-up as indicated to ensure continuity of care.

 

Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s Degree in Social Work or Counseling from an accredited university.

  • Licensure: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) required.

  • Certifications:

    • Basic Cardiac Life Support (to be obtained within 30 days of employment start date).

    • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (to be obtained within 30 days of employment start date).

  • Experience: Prior experience working with psychiatric mental health populations, preferably in an inpatient setting.

  • Preferred Skills:

    • Case management

    • Discharge planning

    • Group leadership skills

    • Age-specific growth and development

    • Crisis and behavior management

    • Family therapy theory and practice
