Hardware Engineering Lead - High-Speed Digital Design

Are you an experienced electrical engineer with a passion for high-speed digital design? We are seeking a hands-on Hardware Engineering Lead to spearhead high-speed electronic design projects. This role involves managing design projects, coordinating activities, and ensuring timelines are met, without direct people management responsibilities. If you have a strong background in system-level high-speed digital board design (16-20+ Gbps) and exceptional project management skills, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Development Projects: Oversee hardware development projects focusing on high-speed serial data communication products.
High-Speed Digital Circuit Design: Perform board and system-level high-speed digital circuit design, integration, and evaluation.
System Design Participation: Contribute to system design and functionality.
PCB Layout and Simulation: Lead PCB layout and simulation efforts, with a preference for knowledge of >20Gbps layout.
Project Management: Manage hardware development schedules, system and board-level tests, unit and production tests, mechanical engineering interface, component selection, EMC, and CE certification.
Cross-Departmental Interface: Collaborate with software, operations, manufacturing, procurement, customer support, etc.
EMC Certification Assistance: Support EMC certification processes.
Qualifications
Educational Background: BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (MS preferred).
Experience:
10+ years of system/board level design experience in high-speed circuit design, embedded platforms, CPU, memory interfaces, layout, and simulation.
Minimum of 5 years leading development projects/teams.
Experience with network product companies developing high-speed serial interfaces and circuits.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in high-speed (20Gbps or higher) design methodologies and simulation.
Expertise in bus technologies such as PCIe, USB, Ethernet, SAS/SATA.
Strong hands-on technical capabilities.
Knowledge of high-speed simulation tools like Hspice, Hyperlinx or similar.
Familiarity with manufacturing processes, EMC/EMI control, schematic entry tools, test and measurement equipment (real-time oscilloscopes, network and spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers), debugging, and high-speed timing.
Interpersonal Skills: Team player with outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills.
