Compensation: $100,000 - $150,000 + 15% Bonus + 9% 401K Match + Outstanding Relocation Package

 

Job Description:

Are you a passionate and hands-on Health & Safety Manager looking to make a significant impact? Join our Fortune 500 consumer packaged goods (CPG) manufacturing plant in Modesto, CA, and lead our safety culture to new heights. This is an exciting opportunity to manage all aspects of plant Health & Safety (H&S) and ensure a safe, accident-free work environment in a large facility with over 600 employees.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Health & Safety Program Management: Oversee all aspects of Health and Safety programs to ensure compliance and safety excellence.

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and drive a comprehensive, multi-year strategy for the plant’s journey towards Health & Safety excellence.

  • Training & Guidance: Provide strategic leadership, training, and guidance for the Safety department, including people, data, and budgetary responsibilities.

  • Accident Investigations: Lead accident investigations, conduct root cause analysis, and compile accident reports.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Offer technical expertise and support on regulatory compliance issues related to Safety.

  • Safety Programs: Build and manage world-class safety programs and Safety Committees.

  • Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments and implement effective risk management strategies.

  • Communication & Compliance: Ensure effective communication and compliance with State, Federal, Local, and Corporate Safety regulations.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree or related experience in lieu of a degree.

  • Experience: 7+ years of H&S experience in a medium to large manufacturing plant.

  • Leadership: 5+ years of supervisory/leadership/management experience.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal health and safety regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA).

  • Risk Management: Proficiency in conducting risk assessments and implementing risk management strategies.

  • Accident Investigation: Experience in leading accident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.

  • Lean/Continuous Improvement Mindset: Ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Collaboration Skills: Solid ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and influence safety culture.

  • Certifications: CSP certification is a plus.
