Electrical Engineer - Automation Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer specializing in automation to join our dynamic team in Jackson, Tennessee. This role involves spearheading electrical and automation projects from inception to completion, with a strong focus on capital expense (CAPEX) management and process optimization. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in troubleshooting industrial and manufacturing equipment and a deep understanding of safety standards applicable to industrial operations.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management: Lead and manage CAPEX projects, including planning, budgeting, design, execution, scheduling, procurement, installation, and startup of electrical controls equipment and instrumentation.
Technical Coordination: Provide technical support and coordination in operating and capital expense management processes.
Engineering Work: Perform detailed engineering tasks in instrumentation, PLC, power distribution, and equipment integration.
Operational Support: Collaborate with operational leaders to drive improvements and troubleshoot existing equipment and processes.
Procedure Development: Develop and refine engineering procedures for enhanced efficiency.
Data Analysis: Collect and interpret process samples and data for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Experience: 3-8 years of industrial experience in planning and installing electrical equipment and automation controls.
Certifications: ISA Certified Automation Professional Certification (preferred).
Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD.
Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of NFPA-70, NFPA-70E, Rockwell Automation PLC systems, AC/DC drives and motors, and automation communication systems.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Familiarity with equipment design standards (ANSI, ASTM, FM, NFPA, IEC).
Expertise in machine safety design.
Proficiency in database systems for process control applications.
Strong programming capabilities with Rockwell Automation PLC systems.
Effective troubleshooting skills for AC/DC drives and motors.
