Director OB, RN

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Obstetrics (OB) to manage the financial and clinical operations of our OB department. In this role, you will oversee a team of qualified professionals, ensuring the highest standards of patient care. You will collaborate closely with our recruiting team to develop effective sourcing and hiring strategies, ensuring we attract top talent.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Department Integration: Ensure seamless integration of department services with the hospital's primary functions. Maintain open communication with medical and nursing staff, administration, patients, and their families.

  • Policy Development: Develop and implement policies and procedures that support service provision. Supervise nursing staff and ensure their competency.

  • Patient Care: Provide patients and their families with appropriate information throughout the course of care.

  • Quality Management: Continually assess and improve department performance. Promote the facility's Quality Management program and maintain quality control programs.

  • Service Development: Develop, market, implement, and evaluate new services and programs. Recommend necessary space and resources.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies.

  • Goal Setting: Develop goals and objectives for the OB department and contribute to the Nursing Department's overall goals.

  • Staff Development: Provide orientation, in-service training, and continuing education for department staff.

  • Leadership Duties: Assume duties of the Associate Nursing Executive or Administrative Coordinator as assigned.

  • Employee Engagement: Focus on employee rounding, engagement, and retention, measured by annual engagement scores and turnover rates.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.

  • Bachelor's Degree required.

  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Virginia as a Registered Nurse.

  • Basic Life Support Certification.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of current nursing experience; at least two (2) years in a management role.

  • Current Director of OB experience is a must.

  • 24 Mother-Baby Beds

  • 130-165 Deliveries Monthly

  • Has Manager of OB
