Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Applications Engineering Manager to lead a dynamic team of Applications Engineers for a renowned and growing manufacturer with over 70 years of industry excellence. This pivotal role involves managing a team of 5-7 engineers within a $150M division of a $5B+ global diversified manufacturer. The ideal candidate will act as the primary liaison between sales/customers and engineering, driving both existing and new product lines to enhance customer experience and product performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the Applications Engineering Team, ensuring responsiveness to customer requests.

  • Customer Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for customer-related issues and ensure timely corrective actions.

  • Budget Management: Oversee the expense budget for the Applications Engineering Team.

  • Quality Assurance: Implement corrective actions for customer quality and performance issues.

  • Business Development: Build business cases for potential new opportunities.

  • Product Development: Provide input on the development of new products and modifications to existing product lines.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering-related field strongly preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a management role and 5 years in an engineering-related position.

  • Skills: Strong project management skills are essential.

  • Preferred Knowledge: Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement initiatives. Knowledge of blending, mixing, and extrusion processes is a plus.
