Quality Manager

This role encompasses the oversight of the continuous improvement project action item list and the management/development of interns. The Quality Manager collaborates closely with the Company sales and CTS (Customer Technical Services) teams, serving as the primary liaison between all customers and the plant production team to address customer concerns.

  • Investigate and address customer claims promptly to prevent aged claims.

  • Participate in customer visits as required.

  • Provide guidance for the internship program and supervise interns.

  • Develop and oversee trial planning within the mill and maintain records in the trial log.

  • Regularly review and update the FDA approved chemical list and the document control system.

  • Lead Kepner Tregoe (KT) events as scheduled.

  • Attend and actively contribute to department meetings.

  • Manage job assignments and training plans.

  • Participate in lab activities and reporting.

  • Engage frequently with Company Sales and Corporate Customer Technical Services.

  • Execute Six Sigma projects and troubleshoot issues using lean methodology.

  • Oversee Technical Lab activities.

  • Fulfill other assigned duties.

Who Will Be a Great Fit?  

  • Experience in a test lab environment.

  • Background in paper making.

  • A Safety-First mindset to uphold a safe workplace.

  • Willingness to travel to customers as necessary.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Availability for On-call/weekend duty rotation.

  • Participation in or leading KT Training is advantageous.

  • Knowledge of printing press runnability.

  • Familiarity with SAP.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated leadership ability to develop and motivate teams.

  • Ability to achieve positive results in safety, quality, productivity, cost control, and employee relations.

  • Attention to detail and a quality-oriented mindset.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively.

  • Ability to function both as a team member and an individual contributor.

  • Six Sigma Green or Black belt training is a plus.
