Here are a few examples of staffing success.

Making the Right Connections #706 - Credit Card VP

The Scenario:

Company required a hard to find executive.  A large financial services firm in Connecticut owned by an international bank needed an executive vice president for their credit card division.

The Action:

NPAworldwide members connect.  The vice president of staffing for the financial services firm contacted an NPAworldwide member in Cincinnati, OH, which had previously provided staffing assistance to them. The Ohio recruiting firm did not have direct credit card experience, but was able to partner with an NPAworldwide firm in Ontario that specializes in that industry to identify candidates for the position.

The Result:

Search completed faster and more efficiently.  The two recruiting firms met with the client to present an initial pool of qualified candidates and to determine an interview process. Due to the speedy response, a second job order was also shared with the Ohio firm. Additional candidates were presented and interviews began within three weeks. Both positions were filled by the Ohio-Ontario NPAworldwide team. During the search process, the client declared, “We have never had a search firm provide us with this many qualified candidates in such a short period of time for a position at this level.”

Making the Right Connections #186 - Excellence is a Habit

The Scenario:

Manufacturing Company Needs Experienced Candidates Overseas.  A US-based company has multiple international openings for manufacturing, sales, and services operations roles.

The Action:

NPAworldwide Member Develops Standardized Processes and Tools.  The company is an existing client of an NPAworldwide member. Due to the global nature of the hires, there were no standardized procedures in place. The hiring process was long, due to delayed starts and language barriers. The NPAworldwide partner developed a standardized process for recruiting, qualification and selection that can be repeated for future hiring needs.

The Result:

Manufacturing Company Successfully Fills Global Positions with Help of NPAworldwide Member.  The NPAworldwide member leveraged its network relationships to identify high quality, external candidates. Ultimately, the NPAworldwide member was able to assist the client in filling 14 positions in 8 different countries and met all new business commitments. Additionally, a pipeline of more than 20 additional candidates was developed for consideration for future roles.

Making the Right Connections #239 - Location, Location, Location

The Scenario:

Atlanta member recruiting for New York position.  An NPAworldwide member in Atlanta was asked by the northern New York subsidiary of its Atlanta-based client to fill a job opening for a pressure vessel engineer.

The Action:

Atlanta member reaches across borders for help.  The Atlanta member contacted his usual NPAworldwide resources for assistance in sourcing a qualified candidate. Realizing the position would be near the Canadian border, the Atlanta member thought to contact a Canadian member he’d met through years of attending NPAworldwide conferences. The two members recruited similar candidates and shared common industries and clients, but had never worked together due to the geographic limitations of their normal search efforts.

The Result:

Canadian member provides successful candidate. The Canadian partner located a Canadian citizen, working in California, who was a perfect fit for the job and eager to relocate nearer to Canada. The client hired the candidate, and subsequently shared another opening for an additional engineer who will be a direct report to the first candidate. The moral: NPAworldwide membership provides increased geographic reach, resulting in more effective client service.

Making the Right Connections #23 - Retail President

The Scenario:

Sydney-based retailer expanding into USA.  A $100-million Sydney-based retail business is expanding into the American market and requires a president for the USA business.

The Action:

Retail owner learns of NPAworldwide recruiter with global connections.  The owner of the Sydney retailer was sitting next to a Sydney NPAworldwide partner during a sporting event. The pair started chatting, and the Sydney recruiter discussed his membership in NPAworldwide and ability to work globally. The retail owner was impressed by the Sydney recruiter's global capability and asked for his assistance on the search.

The Result:

NPAworldwide partners earn retained search assignment.  The Sydney NPAworldwide partner contacted a USA NPAworldwide partner who specializes in executive search for the retail industry. The two partners made a joint (virtual) presentation to the Sydney retailer, followed by a series of meetings to develop a plan. The end result: the two NPAworldwide partners earned the retained search assignment from the Sydney retailer, and are executing the search project as a joint effort.

Making the Right Connections #206 - London Calling

The Scenario:

U.S. publishing company expands its London staff.  A large multinational publishing company, headquartered in Oklahoma, was seeking sales, marketing and events professionals in London due to a merger/expansion.

The Action:

Oklahoma partner lands assignment.  As a result of persistently marketing NPAworldwide’s international capabilities to this long-time client, a member in Oklahoma received the job orders for the three London positions. The Oklahoma member, primarily an engineering specialist, contacted a member in London for assistance with the positions.

The Result:

Six positions successfully filled.  The London member identified candidates which were presented to the client for interviews and all three openings were successfully filled, as well as an additional three openings. The client’s London hiring manager with permission from the Oklahoma member, is now interfacing directly with the London member to streamline the hiring process. The two NPAworldwide members have a year long exclusive agreement for future recruiting needs with this client in exchange for a modest reduction in the fee schedule.
