Sr Systems Analysis - MOSS 2007

The Technical Specialist is a Senior Technology position responsible for developing and managing the application and information architecture within company's EPCM (Enterprise Portal and Content Management) environment. The candidate will provide professional services on major collaborative projects across the Microsoft platform utilizing Microsoft SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS 2007), Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 (WSS 3.0), SharePoint Designer 2007 and various other .NET components. They will oversee and participate in the architectural design, development, customization and integration efforts of solutions involving Collaboration, Portals, Content Management, Business Process and Forms, and Business Intelligence. In addition, they will also provide technical ad-hoc advisement to internal and external partners. The candidate will work closely with company's IT Business Partner and IT Shared Services teams and other stakeholders to provide strategic and operational direction and oversight to the implementation of the PCM architecture. The incumbent will also actively participate in the IS architecture community to leverage and influence architecture standards, capabilities, and strategies.
Responsibilities
20% - Establishes, coordinates and directs EPCM tool activities and is a recognized SharePoint expert within the company. Functioning as an expert, develops and implements portal solutions that include integrating applications, structured and unstructured information. Provides expert configuration solutions and advice and development of customizations, as required, within the context of technical standards. Develops new features requested through requirements gathering from projects and pilots, tests and implements these features specifically or broadly, as each situation dictates
30% - Works very closely with project teams during the planning and design phases to ensure the web site plans deliver the desired informational needs of their stakcholdcrs while not compromising the global EPCM architecture. This includes how the site will be structured and divided into a set of site collections and sites, how data will be presented in the site, how site users will navigate through the site, how information will be targeted at specific audiences, how search will be configured and optimized. Participates in business area functional meetings where appropriate to understand business requirements. Consultation during the selection of external service providers
20% - Functions as a leader in sharing best practices across the enterprise for other SharePoint projects to leverage. Leads the development of EPCM Architecture best practices, provides assistance and trains and mentors others. Defines, develops and implements necessary processes and tools to effectively manage the architecture including governance, standards, processes, modeling capabilities, training programs, and communication plans. This includes but is not limited to the EPCM taxonomy, wireframes, sitemaps, site directories, links, navigation, content types, search, search locations, keywords
20% - Operational, Problem and Quality Management
Understand and execute team processes
Monitor Server Maintenance daily and address issues in a timely manner
Monitor the service level agreement (SLA) to ensure compliance
Coordinate infrastructure-related technical upgrades realted to our MOSS Farm(s) (e.g. Server patching, server , database service pack updates etc.)
Answer day-to-day questions surrounding the use of the SharePoint
Independently respond to technical (application, environment, data) issues
10% - Keep abreast of technology trends in the market
Requirements
IT experience within biopharmaceuticals industry is a plus
Strong technical skills in information architecture and methodologies, including experience working with knowledge management/information management systems.
Has demonstrated experience in -

Expert skill with -
- Microsoft SharePoint, .NET, MS SQL, AD, InfoPath technologies
- Certification in WSS (Windows SharePoint Services 3.0) and MOSS (Microsoft Office SharePoint Server) a plus
