Principal Duties and Accountabilities

  • Manages large projects and complex IT projects and ensures scope, budget, and time commitments are met with highest quality delivery.
  • Oversees and coordinates all project initiatives throughout the IT organization to ensure that IT resources are being optimized; business priorities are being met; and strong communication is occurring both within the IT organization and between IT and the business stakeholders.
  • Partners with business process owners and IT to determine project feasibility and mitigation of risks and issues.
  • Ensures that projects adhere to a strict set standard software delivery and development methodologies, such as SDLC, ITIL, ASAP, etc. Develops all project documentation including project charter (scope and risks), project plan, management plans (such as communication, resource, testing and training plans), RICEFW lists, and budget.
  • Executes the project by planning, organizing, and controlling the activities of the project team. Identifies project risk and develops mitigating actions/strategies
  • Monitors, evaluates, and reports on the progress of the delivery team and the project performance (budget, cost, schedule, scope, quality, risk, and issues). Leads/participates in meetings at the operations and project level
  • Prepares project status reports and presentations for senior management and manages the scope change control process if necessary. Recommends corrective actions to the Project Sponsor/Steering Committee and ensures execution of approved corrective actions.Ensure IT resource optimization and the delivery of small to complex projects that meet or exceed business commitments.
  • Manages project status reports, coordinates project schedules, manages project meetings, and identifies and resolves technical problems.
  • Coordinates project activities and ensures all project phases are documented appropriately.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Performs a variety of complicated tasks.
  • May lead and direct the work of others.
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.


Qualifications, Educational Skills and Experience

  • Requires a bachelor's degree and at least 10 years experience working in an IT organization, with 3+ years SAP configuration experience in a core module.
  • Experience with business process modeling and business process reengineering.
  • 10 years experience using System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • 5 to 10 years experience in managing medium to large, complex IT projects
  • Responsible for 3 full SAP life cycle implementation projects.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Extensive use of Solution Manager with several SAP projects.
